Stratford Armouries is much more than a museum. A unique visitor experience, it is suitable for all ages. Open every day with very reasonably priced entrance, the family can spend a full day there and not be disappointed. This attraction is excellent for all weathers.
The museum exhibits are exciting and diverse. The youngest members of the family will delight in the National Collection of model soldiers. A few thousand figures in one place really is a sight to behold. Another family favourite is the life size Armoured Horse that is on display.
For the more senior members of the family, a touch of nostalgia is on offer. The Wellington Aviation Museum is now part of Stratford Armouries and truly is the jewel in the crown of this attraction.
After viewing the exhibits, the children can run off any energy that remains in Henry’s Castle play area while the adults take a well-earned rest. It is a spectacular play area shaped like a fort.
Restaurant facilities are also on site. The restaurant is open through the day and has excellent views of the Warwickshire countryside. It serves snacks and more substantial lunches, as well as providing much needed refreshments at the end of a lovely day out.
Throughout 2012, there are a series of special invents, including a once-monthly Sunday fair.
Stratford Armouries is located just off the A34 and is easily accessible from Stratford, Birmingham and surrounding areas. Its ideal location offers excellent transport links whether you are arriving by car or public transport.
